I'm Mike Vilece. A licensed Texas real estate agent with Compass in Austin, and the founder of The Austin Local Group. I work with buyers, sellers, investors, and relocators who want straight answers, not a sales pitch.

I came here for the University of Texas. Thirty-five years in Texas, twenty-plus of them in Austin, which is long enough to have watched most of these neighborhoods turn into something else at least once.

Before Compass I spent more than a decade at a luxury brokerage, a lot of it working with people moving in from out of state. That's where the line I still work by came from: luxury is not a price point, it's a level of service.

I cover Austin from the street level: which schools are actually good, which neighborhoods are quietly on the move, where the off-market opportunities are, and who to call to get into them. Perhaps most importantly, where you're eating your next meal.
